2004 Top of The Town Charity Ball funds 2 new Ventilators

The Top of the Town Charity Ball Committee Chairman Richard Pithouse is pleased to announce that a total of $141,000 has been raised by the committee as a result of the ball.

An additional anonymous donation of $59,000 to supplement the funds raised has brought the total amount raised to $200,000 enabling Hamilton Base Hospital to purchase two ventilators, a heart monitor and other vital equipment.

WDHS CEO Mr Jim Fletcher said that the Charity Ball was a fantastic success receiving overwhelming support from our community and the funds raised far exceeded any expectations. “We thought that if the event was able to raise a substantial contribution towards the purchase of one ventilator it would be an outstanding success. With this overwhelming response and support we are now able to purchase two and obtain new and update other equipment to ensure we have modern state of the art equipment essential to the provision of high quality heath care to our community. The level of generosity and support that has achieved this outcome speaks volumes for the quality of people we are fortunate to have living in our community”, he said.
