The South West Community Transport Program commenced in 1999, and operates across the local government areas of Moyne, Corangamite, Glenelg, Southern Grampians and the City of Warrnambool.
This program does not provide a direct transport service to clients but works from a mobility management perspective of encouraging use of existing transport services and working with communities to develop solutions to transport issues.

The program is managed through the Western District Health Service but is directed and closely monitored by an advisory committee comprised of representatives from the community, the bus and taxi industries and local government.

What we do
- Assist people to access suitable transport through provision of information on existing transport options

- Give information on transport subsidy programs such as the Multi-Purpose Taxi Program and the Mobility Allowance
- Provide advice and assistance to community transport providers on policies and procedures and training for volunteer drivers
- Provide some financial assistance to individuals to access transport in a crisis or difficult situation
- Provide limited financial assistance to community transport programs to help them develop their service
- Advocate for new and/or improved transport in the South West region
