Adult Day Activity Support Service (ADASS)
Location
ADASS (Hamilton) is lcoated at the Frances Hewett Community Centre. ADASS Penshurst is located at the Sheppard Community Centre at the Penshurst & District Health Service.
The Adult Day Activity and Support Service (ADASS) is a HACC funded service, which aims to enhance the lives of aged, frail and disabled residents in our community by providing social interaction and access to a large range of services.
It is a great way of making new friends, keeping active and enjoying the company of others in a relaxed, informal and friendly environment.
ADASS fills many needs for people as they experience loss of independence, isolation and loneliness. Learning and being active renews life interests and brings joy and happiness back into peoples lives.
A large variety of activities are provided, including :
- Outings – Hamilton and surrounding areas
- Exercises/Relaxation/Games
- Guest Speakers – Health promotion, Travel, local interests
- Theme Days –Countries around the world, special dates – Races, Australia Day, Valentines Day, Mothers/Fathers Day, Christmas, Easter
- School Visits – We attend concerts, art shows, and regularly do ‘Buddy’ activities with Primary School students
- Reminiscing – so many interesting stories
- Music and sing-a-longs with local musicians
- Art and Craft
- Special celebrations and luncheons
Clients are able to attend one session per week, and the program runs 5 days per week – 4 sessions in Hamilton, and 1 session in Penshurst (which includes clients from Dunkeld and Glenthompson).
A small daily fee assists to cover transport, morning and afternoon tea, a two course lunch and the activities for the day.
On occasions when we have a special event there may be an extra cost to the clients.

- Allied Health Departments
- Acute Wards
- Home Care Services

Transport is provided to and from the program as required.
