Quit Educator

Cathy Armstrong  (Registered Nurse) has completed the Cancer Council QUIT Victoria Educator’s course and updates.

She is available to conduct Quit: -  “Fresh Start”, “Short” Courses and  “Work Place” Seminars.

The programs available range in length, from a one and a half hour seminar, to longer courses held over several weeks.

Topics covered include quitting methods, coping with withdrawal, and developing strategies to stay quit for good.

 

Fresh Start Course
The course comprises eight one-hour sessions spaced over four weeks and is designed for people who want to stop smoking.  The course provides information, resources and support to the participants about quitting smoking and staying quit.

 

Short Course

This is a two-session course combined with support from the Quitline telephone call back service.   Each session is a three-hour group discussion, led by a Quit Educator The sessions are two-weeks apart. The short course is available on an individual basis.

 

Work Place Seminars
Seminars are available to work places and are aimed at helping workers quit  - while they’re at work. They present an opportunity for local businesses to run courses on-site.
