Western District Health Service Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director of Corporate Services Pat Turnbull was presented with the Victorian Health Care True Professionals Award for Non-Clinicians at the Annual Victorian Health Care Association Conference held on 12 October 2006.

The Victorian Healthcare Association (VHA) is the peak body which represents all Health Services in Victoria.  The True Professional Award is sponsored by Silverman and Dakin.

Western District Health Service Chief Executive Officer Mr Jim Fletcher said “the award is designed to recognise outstanding leadership in a management capacity with particular emphasis this year on an individual’s significant contribution to Sub Regional and Statewide developments as well as developments within their own Health Service”.

“Pat Turnbull certainly exceeded all the criteria to take out the award with many innovative and leading business developments within Western District Health Service and his leadership role in the Sub Regional Human Resources, Finance and Information Technology projects”.

Mr Turnbull was the foundation chair of the highly successful South West Alliance of Rural Health Services, and is currently the Chair of its Finance Sub Committee.

Mr. Fletcher said “Pat had led the completion of the annual financial reporting data for all hospitals across the State for VHA and played a lead role in completing the Statewide Health Services Capital Expenditure and Management Review on behalf of VHA”.

“There are many examples of Pat’s outstanding contribution and achievements both within Western District Health Service and across the health sector.  This award is richly deserved and fitting recognition for his achievements”.

“The Health Service has provided me with many opportunities and support to gain experience to grow and develop my skills and to maximise their utilisation”.
