Ramp Upgrade  for Hamilton Medical Group
23 February 2007

A new ramp being installed to the entrance of the Hamilton Medical Group will improve access to the building.

The current “dog leg” ramp is being replaced be a straight ramp with a more gentle slope, providing easier access for clients.

The bottom of the ramp will be placed at the current disabled car park and taxi ramp, improving the facility for disabled, elderly and incapacitated clients.

During the construction phase the entrance to the pathology building will be blocked, so people will be redirected through the Hamilton Base Hospital’s main entrance. Signs will direct those requiring pathology services or Greater Health.

This is expected to last two weeks, but will be opened again in time for a four day period when the Foster St entrance to the HMG building will be inaccessible.

HMG clients are asked to enter the Medical Group through the rear entrance, accessed through the Pathology building during those four days.
