Penshurst Nursing Home

As reported in the media, there was a serious incident at the Penshurst Nursing Home on Monday morning, October 30, when one of our elderly residents was allegedly assaulted by a visiting family member.
The resident has been admitted to Hamilton Base Hospital, where she remains in a stable and improving condition.
The situation was well managed by the staff at the Penshurst Nursing Home, ensuring the safety of all other residents, and the police who apprehended the offender.
All relatives of Penshurst Nursing Home residents have been contacted and reassured of the wellbeing of their family members.
Western District Health Service is providing counselling support, which will continue to be made available to residents and staff as required.
