Health Service Tops for Cleanliness

1 June 2007

Western District Health Service has topped the State for acute facilities with greater than 100 beds in the latest Statewide external cleaning audits undertaken by Cogent.

Western District Health Service Chief Executive Officer Mr. Jim Fletcher said “the Health Service had scored 98% in its cleaning audit undertaken in March this year.  This is an outstanding result and all credit goes to our cleaning staff, management and support staff across all areas of the Health Service”.

“Our staff take great pride in the presentation of the Health Service and work hard to maintain a safe and clean environment for our patients and the community”.

Mr. Fletcher said “for many years the Health Service has and continues to have an extensive internal cleaning audit program in place and it is pleasing to see that the outcome and results from this cleaning regime have consistently been confirmed by external audits, which applied rigorous criteria”.

“Whilst the 98% benchmark obtained in this audit sets a standard that will take some topping we will be striving to improve on it” he said.
