The Coleraine and Merino Community Transport service has benefited from the generosity of the Bendigo Community Bank in Coleraine

The Coleraine and District Health Service, which include the Merino Bush Nursing Centre, received a donation of $1000 from the Bendigo Community Bank’s Building Better Communities scheme for their transport facility.

The donation will be directed toward the running costs of the Community Transport Service in Coleraine and Merino, and the service will be recognizable by the bright magnetic signs which have been placed on the two vehicles.

“We are reliant on the generous support of our community for equipment replacement and upgrading of facilities,” according to Manager/ Director of Nursing Tim Pitt-Lancaster.

The Community Transport Service offers door-to-door assisted transport for eligible clients, such as the frail, elderly and disabled and is provided by volunteer drivers in Merino and Coleraine.

The support of the Bendigo Community Bank is greatly appreciated by Western District Health Service.
