Health Chief Signs Up
30 June 2008
Western District Health Service Chief Executive Officer Mr. Jim Fletcher has signed up for a further term as head of the Health Service.
In making the announcement, Western District Health Service Board President Mr. Richard Walter said, “the Board is delighted to re-appoint Jim Fletcher for a further term of four years.
“Under Jim’s leadership and guidance the Health Service has expanded the range of services provided to the community significantly and become one of the State’s leading Sub Regional Health Services, recognised for its innovation, progressive management and focus on continuous quality improvement, which culminated in Western District Health Service being named as the 2007 Regional Health Service of the Year.”
“The number of new programs, growth in services, and the financial stability we have experienced, is testament to the work that he and his staff across Western District Health Service have accomplished. Other services have also recognised the skills and experience of Mr. Fletcher with his appointment to both Rural North West Health and Rural Ambulance Victoria boards, whilst he has been our CEO” he said.
“It is unusual for a Chief Executive Officer of one Health Service to be appointed to other Health Boards” Mr. Walter said.
Mr. Fletcher said “it was pleasing and gratifying to be provided with the opportunity to continue on with a leading and innovative Health Service like Western District Health Service. Having both an outstanding Board and staff across all disciplines at all levels combined with the tremendous community support for the Health Service were influential factors in my decision to continue.”
