The Grange Residential Care Service in Gray St, Hamilton, is preparing to take the next step in its redevelopment, ensuring this aged care facility retains its premier status in the region.
The proposed works follow on from the July 2004 WDHS Master Plan, and include:
- A new 7-Bed Wing (5 additional beds taking the total to 50)
- Redevelopment of Home 3 to provide for high care (Nursing Home) residents
- New kitchen, relocation to Home 3
- More spacious Activity Areas
- Relocation of Staff Bases
- Increased storage space
- New external garage/ store
- Extension of covered area to existing service delivery area to allow the pick up and drop off of residents during inclement weather.
- Re-alignment of the main entry
- North facing sitting space with paved terrace
The estimated construction time from commencement of work is 12 - 15 months.
The estimated cost of these works is $2.8 million.
