Victorian Public Health Care Awards 2009

Western District Health Service has again performed strongly in the Annual Victorian Public Healthcare Awards as a runner up in the Premier’s Regional Health Service of the Year award.
The Health Service has previously been a runner up in the Primary Health Service of the Year in 2006 before taking out this award in 2008 and took out the 2007 Regional Health Service of the Year award.
Western District Health Service Chief Executive Officer Mr. Jim Fletcher said “the Premier ‘s Award is the most prestigious accolade a Victorian Health Service can aspire to, The award is for recognition of leadership, innovation and excellence in the provision of publicly funded healthcare for the Victoria Community.”
Mr. Fletcher said “he was pleased that the Health Service was consistently under consideration for the top awards”.
The Health Service also received a highly commendation award for its 2008 Quality of Care report.
Mr. Fletcher said “this was the first time our Quality of Care report was considered for excellence in quality reporting which was testament to the work of our Quality Manager and Community Advisory Committee.”
