headspace South West Victoria, is an innovative program that aims to make a difference in the lives of young people (12 – 25 yrs) who are at risk of mental health and related issues such as substance use.  Using an early intervention model, the program provides primary health care, mental health services and social recovery linkages via a consortium of local organisations lead by Brophy Family and Youth Services.

There is an exciting opportunity to work within the Counselling team of Western District Health Service, and to work closely with the South West Victoria headspace model coordinated by Brophy Family and Youth Services.  The headspace coordinator is responsible for the day to day promotion, intake, assessment and coordination of South West Victoria headspace in Hamilton. The Coordinator will work closely with local GP’s, health and welfare providers, schools and allied health professionals.

We are looking for someone who has excellent engagement skills with young people and their families, and the ability to work with other agencies to access and coordinate high quality services in the health and welfare sectors. 

Qualifications in youth work, social work, welfare or similar are essential.

Salary and conditions are as in accordance with the relevant award. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory police check and a current driver’s licence.
