The Hamilton Medical Group wishes to expand its services by recruiting several General Practitioners, of particular interest would be skills in obstetrics, as well as paediatrics and other procedural fields. The Obstetric Practitioner would complement the two GP Obstetricians already in place and lead to a one in three on call roster. A Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who is resident in Hamilton also support obstetrics in Hamilton. The Hamilton Medical Group comprises a group of General Practitioners and Consultant Physicians, and is located adjacent to the Hospital. In addition to the above, there are three Surgeons and a Consultant Anaesthetist resident in Hamilton. Visiting services include orthopaedics, ENT, ophthalmology, urology, dermatology, endocrine and neurology. The successful appointee would be eligible for appointment as a VMO at Western District Health Service. The hospital has 75 acute beds and 100 aged care beds, with 7000 admissions and 210 deliveries per year. The hospital performs 3000 surgical procedures per year and has ICU and HDU facilities. Hamilton is 4 hours by car from Melbourne and 6 hours by car from Adelaide. Being located in the Greater Green Triangle of Victoria, it is within easy distance of the Grampians, Coonawarra wine region and the coastal resorts of Warrnambool, Port Fairy and Portland. Hamilton is renowned for its educational facilities, both private and public, at both primary and secondary level.
